Heidenberg Properties Adds Pablo Medeiros as Director of Development and Construction

Heidenberg Properties, a full-service real estate development company specializing in the acquisition and development of open-air shopping centers, has added Pablo Medeiros to its management team as Director of Development and Construction.
Mr. Medeiros comes to Heidenberg Properties with many years of experience in construction and management. Most recently, he served as the Project Manager/Consultant for Catellus Development Corporation’s mixed-use development project, which included 390,000 square feet of retail and 160,000 square feet of light industrial space in New Jersey. Prior to this position, he worked as a site development manager and senior associate for Greenberg Farrow Architects conducting new store development projects for clients such as Walmart, Kohl’s, and Home Depot.
Heidenberg Properties’ retail portfolio spans over 2,000,000 square feet in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Vermont and is currently engaged in an intense period of expansion, redevelopment, and revitalization. “We are seeing tremendous opportunities to grow our portfolio organically through major re-tenanting initiatives and outlot development,” explained Robert Heidenberg, CEO of Heidenberg Properties. “We believe it is important to bring the talent required to manage these projects efficiently and effectively in-house. Pablo has a technical skill-set that will facilitate the success of these projects from a development and construction perspective, as well as t he retail experience necessary to support revenue growth at the properties,” said Heidenberg.
Mr. Medeiros has already started managing several developments at Heidenberg Properties, including:
Berlin Mall, Berlin, VT – 55,000 square foot ground-up Kohl’s, which began construction in early August and is scheduled to open February 28, 2016. Kohl’s will join Walmart Supercenter and JCPenney to make the 250,046 square foot Mall the premier retail destination in Central Vermont.
Tops Plaza, Greenville, NY – Addition of a 6,775 square foot ground-up Mavis Tire pad building including tenant relocation, renovation of leasable space, and infrastructure upgrades at the 92,000 square foot center.
Mount Pocono Plaza, Mount Pocono, PA – Renovation of a 55,000 square foot Weis Market’s façade and facelift for inline tenants at the 203,000 square foot property.
Hershey Square, Hummelstown, PA – Demolition of vacant bank pad building and replacement with a new 6,750 multi-tenant pad building, including tenant fit-outs for Vision Works and Five Guys Burgers and Fries at the 218,000 square foot center. In addition, the expansion of the Pennsylvania Wine and Spirits Superstore and renovation of stockroom space into inline stores for Pet Valu and Sleepy’s.
Heidenberg Plaza, Closter, NJ – Capital improvements at the 33,056 square foot center include new pedestrian walkways, parking lot, landscaping, lighting, and upgrading of tenant signs.
Hauppauge Plaza, Hauppauge, NY – Preparation of inline tenant spaces to accompany the new 12,000 square foot Dollar Tree that recently opened at the 36,000 square foot Plaza in February 2015. New tenants that are recently opened or scheduled to open soon include Sabrosa Mexican Grill, Ace Cleaners, and Matador Cigars.
Southport Shopping Center, Shirley, NY – Recently completed the re-tenanting of a 33,000 square foot building for Michaels and Modell’s Sporting Goods as well as the complete fit-out for a 7,300 square foot dressbarn at the 300,000 square foot property.
